| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: creative, outgoing, and practical. The three careers that match my style are: elementary school workers, child care workers, and fashion designers. From this information I have decided to explore becoming an elementary school teacher. I selected this job because I enjoy playing and working with young children and teaching/ being a leader. One of my daily activities as a teacher would be to instruct and teach students. I also have to teach appropriate behavior. In addition, I have to come up with educational and learning activities for the children to do. To work as a teacher, I need to have a bachelor’s degree. I must be good at teaching students effectively and communicating in a way others can understand in order to become a well trained teacher. In the United States, the average salary for a teacher is $52,240 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $57,955. In the United States by the year 2016, employment for a teacher is expected to increase by 13.6%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016, it is expected to increase by 22.6%. I am looking forward to becoming a teacher in the future. |
